Krista Wozniak -
"A magnificent stage animal with a pealing soprano" is how Richard
Dyer of the Boston Globe describes soprano Krista Wozniak. Dyer goes
on to say "She can deliver powerful declamation in the middle voice
and fling out a splendid high C. She has glamour and personality
to burn." Ms. Wozniak's numerous roles have included the title role
in Blitzstein's Regina, Desdemona in Verdi's Othello, Fiordiligi
in Mozart's Cosi fan lutte, Micaela in Bizet's Carmen, Lady Billows
in Britten's Albert Herring, Mother Marie in Poulenc's Dialogues
of the Carmelites, La Ciesca in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi, and
Zweite Dame in Mozart's Die Zauberflote. She has appeared with
Greensboro Opera Company. Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Opera North,
Sali Marsh Opera, Boston University Opera, National Opera Company.
Opera Company of North Carolina, Gateway Classical Music Society,
Opera for the Young, Theatre X, and Milwaukee Opera. She is a
graduate of the Opera Institute at Boston University, where she
studied with soprano Phyllis Curtin, and where she was awarded the
Esther B. and Albert S. Kahn Career Entry Award, the highest honor
presented by the School of the Arts. Ms. Wozniak performed Bernstein's
"Songfest," conducted by Seiji Ozawa, as a Tanglewood Fellow, and
made her professional orchestral solo debut with the North Carolina
Symphony Orchestra, singing an all Viennese concert on New Year's
Eve, 2000. She has performed internationally, including an Open Air
Opera Concert at Kan Zaman in Amman, Jordan, in September 2001. Ms.
Wozniak appears regularly with the New Vocal Arts Ensemble, a quartet
of singers that performs nationally, presenting solos and ensembles
from a variety of musical sources.
Cecilia Angell
(Leonora in Il Trovatore) -
Peruvian-American
soprano Cecilia Angell is widely acclaimed for the “warmth and distinctive
timbre of her rich voice,” her “searing charisma,” and “natural beauty.” She has performed with Virginia Opera, Opera
Grand Rapids, Knoxville Opera Company, Hawaii Opera, Korean American Opera, San
Francisco Symphony, Chicago’s Grant Park Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra
(broadcast on WQXR), and London’s BBC Symphony Orchestra (broadcast live on BBC
Radio 3), and many others. Her
repertoire includes Vanessa, Santuzza, Butterfly, Manon Lescaut, Tosca, Amelia,
among others. Ms. Angell began her
career as a mezzo and recorded Abuela in Falla's La vida breve on the
Dorian label, conducted by Eduardo Mata with Venezuela's Simón Bolívar Symphony
Orchestra. She is a graduate of Curtis
Institute of Music. Tonight marks Ms.

Emily Howard -
Regional credits include Il Trovatore
(Azucena), Aïda (Amneris), Carmen (Carmen), The Mikado (Katisha).
Companies include The Metropolitan Opera, The New York Gilbert and
Sullivan Players, The New England Lyric Opera, The New Jersey Verismo
Opera, and Amato Opera. Oratorio credits include the alto solos
in The Messiah, Elijah, the Lord Nelson Mass, and Mozart's Coronation
Mass (Carnegie Hall debut). She is featured on the recording The
OMNI Ensemble Plays the Chamber Music of Jim Lahti.
Fredrick Frey - has performed in numerous
concerts--both solo and with The New Vocal Arts Ensemble--and in
opera, including the roles of Zuniga with the Boheme Opera NJ and
Sharpless with the Commonwealth Opera of Massachusetts. A regular
performer with State Repertory Opera, Frey has performed leading
roles in numerous productions including Sharpless in Madame Butterfly,
The Ballad of Baby Doe, Faust, Carmen, La Bohme, Le Nozze di Figaro
and Thas. When he is not performing, Frey serves on the voice faculty
of New Jersey City University and The County College of Morris, and
is also Director of Music at The First Presbyterian Church of
Ridgewood, NJ.
Sung Chun Park - has won several major vocal contests recently including the Licia Albanese - Puccini Foundation International Vocal Competition in both 2000 and 2003 with performances in Alice Tully Hall in New York, 1st Place in the Opera Index Vocal Competition in 2001. His favorite roles and performances include Delmonte in Un Giorno di Regno at Caramoor Opera Production, Fernando in Marino Faliero with the Opera Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall conducted by Eve Queller, Alfredo in La Traviata and Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus with the Choral Society of the Hamptons, and Rodolfo in La Bohéme for the Mannes College of Music conducted by Joseph Calinari, conductor at the Metropolitan Opera.
