S.R.O. Presents . . .
in Concert Performance
on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 4:00
at Westminster Hall,
Bloomfield College, Bloomfield, NJ
[ flyer ]
Scenes depicting Love, Lust and Murder (which are the life blood of our favorite form of music!)
will be sung by State Repertory Opera's world-class singers.
The powerful scene between Tosca and the lustful Scarpia from Puccini's
“Tosca”...
the duet between the captured slave Aïda and the jealous Egyptian princess
Amneris as they hide their feelings about the man whom they both
love from Verdi's triumphant masterpiece “Aïda”...
the tender blossoming of love between Mimi and Rodolfo in Puccini's most beloved “La
Bohème”...
and the final tragic scene of that most famous of all operas,
Bizet's “Carmen” when Don Jose's rejected love turns to murder
–
these are some of the highlights of this not-to-be-missed concert at Bloomfield
College on April 27, 2008
